Earnings report

Companies reporting quarterly earnings Tuesday included:

DuPont Co., the chemical maker, a profit of $1.23 billion, or $1.39 a share, up from $1.03 billion, or $1.11 a share, a year ago. Revenue fell 6 percent to $7.4 billion. Shares rose $1.58 to close Tuesday at $67.55.

Eli Lilly & Co., the drugmaker, a profit of $440 million, or 41 cents a share, down from $530 million, or 50 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 4.7 percent to $4.87 billion. Shares fell $1.67 to $76.27.

Express Scripts Holding Co., the drug benefits manager, a profit of $526.1 million, or 81 cents a share, up from $441.1 million, or 60 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue fell 0.4 percent to $24.8 billion. Shares rose 54 cents to $74.26.
