Arkansas junior Dominic Taccolini shared SEC pitcher of the week honors with Florida’s Logan Shore, the conference office announced Monday.
Taccolini threw 10 shutout innings in Arkansas’ 1-0 victory over Kentucky on Friday in Lexington, Ky., snapping the Razorbacks’ eightgame SEC losing streak.
“It had been a while since we had an SEC victory, and just to go 10 innings, I haven’t thrown that many innings in one game in my life,” Taccolini said.
Taccolini struck out 10 and allowed five hits in the nation’s first 10-inning shutout this season. It was the first shutout for an Arkansas pitcher since Keaton McKinney beat Alabama 4-0 last May 2.
“He’s capable of doing that every week,” Arkansas catcher Tucker Pennell said of Taccolini. “The biggest thing for him was working ahead.”
