Warren, 5-11, 168 pounds, 4.53 second in the 40, of Monroe (La.) Ouachita Parish, chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Colorado State, Memphis, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe while also drawing interest from LSU, Tulane and Temple.

Wide receivers coach Michael Smith recruited Warren.

"He had a big impact," Warren said of Smith. "I love coach Michael Smith. He's honest. He's been trying to get me down here. I just love him."

Warren, who plays quarterback for the Lions, will play receiver at Arkansas. The shifty and elusive Warren had more than 2,200 yards of total offense and 27 touchdowns as a junior.

Warren liked how the Razorbacks recruited him.

"They were very truthful with me, and that kind of helped my decision," Warren said. "I told them I still want to take my visits, and they said that's OK."

He and his parents visited for the Hogs' 28-3 victory over Missouri on Nov. 27 and enjoyed the atmosphere at the Red-White game Saturday.

"It's fun up here and real cool," Warren said. "I like how all the fans show up to support the team."

Warren is the No. 8 commitment for the Class of 2017. Oral commitments are nonbinding.

Smith has signed nine prospects from the Bayou State since 2014, and he already has secured three commitments for the Class of 2017.

Safety Derrick Munson of Metairie Rummel High School and offensive lineman Dwayne Fisher of Marrero Ehret High School committed before Warren. Receiver Al'Dontre Davis of Lutcher, La., also is high on Smith's wish list.

"I'm trying to come as soon as possible," Davis said of Arkansas. "Me and my dad have been looking to come up."

Davis, 6-0, 204, 4.56, has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn, Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina and others. He said he and Smith have forged a strong relationship.

"He's a cool coach," Davis said.

The Hogs ability to develop and send players to the next level is attractive.

"I've seen a lot of people there go to the league, so I want to come check it out," Davis said.

Davis, who caught 65 passes for 924 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior, was impressed with the Hogs handling of LSU 17-0 and 31-14 the past two seasons.

"I could see myself in the offense because they throw the ball around," Davis said. "Some people say it's a running school, but if you're the best receiver on the field, they'll get the ball to you."
