First United Methodist Church in Rogers, 307 W. Elm St., presents Bishop Kenneth H. Carter Jr., resident bishop of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, speaking about God’s creation during the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services Sunday. He presents a lecture at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and a luncheon for questions and answers Monday. His presentation is titled The Sacrament of Creation: The Whole Earth Is Full of God’s Glory.

The gathering room is just one of the spaces inside the 8,000-sqare-foot, two-story facility. Other spaces include rooms for small group meetings, a prayer chapel, student dormitory, kitchen and office spaces for staff. Most of the $2 million cost of constructing and equipping the Wesley House came from the organization’s initial capital campaign, the Extending Outreach campaign at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas, alumni and friends.

Carter’s presentations is the 10th bi-annual Lewis Lecture series and is presented to coincide to Earth Day, which was Friday.

Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Road, presents the Collingsworth Family on the Day Is Coming tour at 7 p.m. May 19. Originally from Petersburg, Mich., their music is regularly featured on Englighten, Gospel Music Television, DayStar Network and featured in one-hour specials on the Inspiration network. And they have sung with many Gaither Homecoming concerts across the United States and Canada.

Bentonville mayor’s office hosts a prayer breakfast to celebrate the National Day of Prayer from 6:30 to 8 a.m. May 5 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Bentonville. The keynote speaker is Nick Floyd, teaching pastor of Cross Church Northwest Arkansas and campus pastor of Cross Church Fayetteville.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, presents ErGene Kahng on violin and Broc Hite on piano in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday. They will present romantic violin sonatas of Grieg and Faure and works of 25-year-old composer Stephanie Ann Boyd. Kahng is an associate professor of violin at the University of Arkansas; serves as concertmaster for the Arkansas Philharmonic and the Fort Smith Symphony; and helped found the Fulbright Summer Chamber Music Festival. Hite is the associate director of music at the church. The 21st season of the Wesley concert series returns at 7 p.m. May 7 with the Graduate Quartet of the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

The monthly meeting of the caregivers support group presents Cyndie Lyon, a licensed social worker, speaking about essential oils and aromatherapy at 9 a.m. Monday in the chapel.

The choir from Bentonville High School has performed by invitation at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and an offering will be taken to support the group’s tour. Living Word Lutheran Church in Rogers, meeting at the Center for Nonprofits at St. Mary’s, 1200 Walnut St., presents Mameo Paulo, a bishop of the Morogora Diocese in Tanzania, speaking at a dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. May 3. Paulo attended Trinity Lutheran College in Everett, Wash., and served there as pastor and bishop.

Living Word provides support to the Morogora Diocese, including yearly funds for a surgical medical team, support of a seminary student, a water reclamation project and supplying Bibles and bicycles.

The church’s music ministry presents its spring concert at 6 p.m. May 15. The event features all groups in the church’s graded choir and bell ministry, with children from age 3 through high school students performing. Admission is free.
