Arkansas is expected to host numerous top prospects for its Red-White spring game Saturday. For highly recruited cornerback Chevin Calloway, it will be somewhat of a homecoming.

Calloway, 5-11, 185 pounds, 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Dallas Bishop Dunne recently received a scholarship offer from the Hogs to go along with offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU and UCLA, among others.

He was born in Pine Bluff and lived there until moving to Texas at 3 years old. He still has relatives in Pine Bluff, Stuttgart, Altheimer and Little Rock. His parents, Charles Calloway Jr. and Jeanell Davis, along with his Arkansas family members were thrilled about the offer.

"My family loves them some Arkansas," said Calloway, who will arrive in Fayetteville tonight with three of his uncles. "My mom talks about how her and my uncles would wake up on a Saturday, and they would all go watch the game ... so getting the offer from Arkansas is pretty exciting for my family for sure. I have several offers, so I still keep those other offers in mind, but Arkansas is definitely one I want to know more about."

Calloway has been talking to linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves. Calloway said he is a fan of Hargreaves' son, Vernon Hargreaves III, who starred as a cornerback for Florida and is expected to go early in next week's NFL Draft.

"He's a really, really cool guy," Calloway said. "I really look up to his son. So it's pretty cool to be talking to his dad and having a relationship with him."

He runs a leg on his school's 400- and 800-meter relay teams. He's triple jumping for the first time this spring and has a best of more than 45 feet.

ESPN rates him the No. 4 cornerback and No. 27 overall prospect in the nation. He said he is looking forward to Saturday.

"I want to experience the connection the coaches have with the players ... the different schemes they run," he said. "I want to talk to the coaches and build that interest level."

First Fayetteville trip

ESPN's No. 5 safety Todd Harris plans to visit the Hogs on Saturday after developing a relationship with receivers coach Michael Smith.

"Coach Smith has been with me through the whole recruiting process," Harris said.

Harris, 6-0, 183, 4.46, plays for Plaquemine High School in Louisiana and has numerous scholarship offers, including Arkansas, LSU, Michigan, Miami, Georgia and Tennessee.

"Arkansas isn't a place I've visited throughout the years, so it's going to be fun to go to a place I've never been before," Harris said.

Because his mother is a principal at a local elementary school, Harris knows the importance of academics.

"I have to keep my grades up to par," Harris said. "As of now, I don't have anything lower than a B."

He'll be joined on the trip by receiver Kendrick Paul of Livonia, La., and receiver Johnathan Jones and safety Gaston Richardson of Shreveport Evangel. Jones and Richardson recently visited the Hogs.

"He said I've got to get up there," Harris said of Jones. "He said it's lovely up there."

Harris said Smith keeps his focus on what the Razorbacks have to offer.

"He's going to talk about Arkansas," Harris said. "He's not going to say negative things about other schools to get you to Arkansas. He's going to be honest about everything he tells you."

Return trip

Athlete De'Vion Warren, who along with his parents visited for the Nov. 27 Missouri game, will be returning for Saturday's spring game.

Warren, 5-11, 168, of Monroe (La.) Ouachita Parish, played quarterback this past season and had more than 2,200 yards of total offense and 27 touchdowns. The Hogs are recruiting him as a receiver.

Receivers coach Michael Smith has been in his ear about being a Razorback.

"He's ready for me to make up my mind on what I'm going to do," Warren said. "He'll say we need the Louisiana boys to come up here now."

He has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Colorado State, Memphis, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe while drawing interest from LSU, Tulane and Temple, among others. Warren said a weekend commitment to the Razorbacks is possible.

"There might be a chance. I'm not for sure yet," Warren said.

He said his parents would approve if he decides to be a Hog.

"They liked the atmosphere and the game, and they liked how they kept it real honest with you," Warren said.
