SPRINGDALE -- Baylee Andrews was a two-way terror for Fayetteville on Thursday.

Andrews hit a first-inning home run and played standout defense at third base to lead Fayetteville to a 6-2 victory over Springdale Har-Ber at J.B. Hunt Park.

Andrews hit a line-drive home run to give Fayetteville a 1-0 lead in the first. She followed with a two-out, two-strike RBI single in the second when Fayetteville added two more runs.

But she was equally impressive in the field with several stops at third base. She fielded a hard grounder and threw a runner out at first after Honesty Holt hit a one-out double for the Lady Wildcats. Andrews then recorded the final out of the inning herself when she fielded a ball and dove to tag out a Har-Ber runner trying to advance to third.

Andrews forced a runner at the plate with a throw in the fifth inning and fielded another hard-hit ball in the sixth to keep Har-Ber from closing the gap.

"Baylee, obviously, got us off to a good start with the home run and she made a number of good plays at third base," Fayetteville coach Jason Shirey said. "She's come a long way and it's nice to see her have a game like that."

Maggie Mabry overcame a two-run home run by Brooklyn Morgan to earn the complete-game victory. Fayetteville (4-5, 3-1) can match its four conference wins from last year if the Lady Bulldogs beat Rogers Heritage at home Tuesday.

Har-Ber (5-8, 1-3) was competitive throughout against Fayetteville after losing 10-0 to Bentonville on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats collected eight hits, including a double and single by Aryn Scoggins. Holt also had a double and a single while Morgan had a home run and a single.

Har-Ber loaded the bases in the seventh before Mabry ended the game with her fifth strikeout. Heidi Bogle, who played at Har-Ber as a freshman, had three hits in the leadoff position for Fayetteville.

Rogers Heritage 5, Fort Smith Southside 4

Brittney Dean delivered a game-winning two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Lady War Eagles to the big 7A-West Conference win on Thursday at Veterans Park.

Dean went 3 for 3 and drove in four runs as Heritage (6-5, 4-0 7A-West) trailed 4-3 going to the bottom of the seventh. Lindsay Glynn also went 4 for 4 and scored three times. Kyndall Strickland also went 1 for 1 with three sacrifice bunts.

Sarah Pollock picked up the win, allowing four runs (all earned). She struck out three.

Bentonville 10, Springdale High 0

Cailey Cochran fired a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and Bentonville took control with a four-run first inning as the Lady Tigers cruised past Springdale during 7A-West play at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Cochran (2-0) needed just 52 pitches to complete her task and allowed just a leadoff double in the fourth.

Bentonville (6-0, 4-0) did all the damage it needed with four runs in the first inning, then added three in the fourth and fifth to force the 10-run rule. Haley Cornell had three hits and drove in a run to lead the Lady Tigers' 13-hit attack, while Jenna Wildeman added two hits and two RBI.

Bentonville heads to Van Buren today and Saturday to take part in the River City Rumble.

Rogers High 13, Fort Smith Northside 0

Maddie Massanelli pitched a perfect game over seven innings and freshman Alex McManus hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, to power the Lady Mounties to the 7A-West Conference win.

The Lady Mounties improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the 7A-West.
