Pedestrian, two cyclists die on state's roadways

Three Arkansans were killed in three separate accidents on state roadways Saturday and Sunday, Arkansas State Police said.

Hector Antonio Regalado-Sandoval, 4̶5 47*, and Emma Rivera-Octaviana, 42, both of Springdale, were walking north across Robinson Avenue near Long Street in Springdale early Sunday morning when they were struck by a vehicle that left the scene, state police reported.

Regalado-Sandoval died at the scene. Rivera-Octaviana was injured and taken to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, according to state police.

The hit-and-run occurred at 12:24 a.m. Sunday, state police said. Conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time.

Springdale police arrested Griselda Arrue, 37, of 2910 Watercrest St. in Springdale about 11 a.m. Sunday and charged her with leaving the scene of an accident with injury or death and negligent homicide, according to an arrest report.

Arrue was no longer listed on the Washington County jail roster Monday evening.

Also on Sunday, a Crossett man was killed in a motorcycle wreck in Union County, state police said.

Doyle Lemar Webb, 46, of Crossett was driving a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle east on U.S. 82 near the Ashley County line when he lost control of the motorcycle, state police reported. Webb was thrown from the motorcycle.

The wreck occurred at 6:18 p.m. Sunday, according to state police.

Conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time.

State police also reported that a Jonesboro man was killed in a motorcycle wreck Saturday afternoon in Poinsett County.

Barry Grant Strong, 32, of Jonesboro was driving a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle south on U.S. 63 when the motorcycle left the roadway and hit the cable-median barrier, state police said.

Strong was taken to Regional Medical Center in Memphis where he was pronounced dead at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, state police reported.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Tiffany Brynn Allred, 33, of Trumann, was injured and also taken to Regional Medical Center, according to state police.

The wreck occurred at 12:29 p.m. Saturday near Marked Tree, state police said.

Conditions were cloudy and the road was dry at the time.
