Beaver Lake: Crappie are biting on the south end of the lake and striped bass are prowling the north end.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said crappie are biting jigs or minnows south of the Arkansas 12 bridge 30 feet deep around brush or shallower around docks. Trolling with crank baits is also working for crappie.

Striped bass are biting in the Beaver Dam area on brood minnows or shad fished 20-30 feet deep. Some schooling activity on stripers is reported. Anglers are catching them on the surface with Zara Spooks.

Walleye are biting nightcrawler rigs from the Arkansas 12 bridge to Rocky Branch park, Whittle said.

Black bass fishing is slow. The south half of the lake is fishing best. Try buzz baits at dawn, or crank baits and spinner baits later in the day.

Beaver tailwater: Nancy Rose at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting orange or white Power Bait tipped with a waxworm. Spoons, crank baits and jigs, all in small sizes, are the top lures. Best flies are olive-colored midges or woolly buggers in low water. Try Clouser minnows or streamers in high water.

Lake Fayetteville: Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock recommends fishing for bluegill with worms or crickets under a float. Go with plastic worms or crank baits for black bass. Catfish are biting liver or hot hogs.

Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said black bass fishing is good with top-water lures or plastic worms. Catfish are biting shad or liver. Bluegill are biting worms or crickets. Crappie are biting along the flats on minnows or jigs.

Lake Elmdale: Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said catfish are biting cut sunfish. Bluegill are biting worms 3 feet deep. Bass fishing is good at dawn with black buzz baits. Try Zoom Flukes or white/chartreuse spinner baits later in the day.

Swepco Lake: Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting big plastic worms at night 2 to 20 feet deep.

Siloam Springs Lake: Stroud recommends using medium-diving crank baits for black bass. Use lures that dive six feet deep.

Illinois River: Stroud said all varieties of soft plastics are working for black bass. Rooster Tails are another good choice.

Bella Vista: Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass fishing is good at all Bella Vista lakes with jigs, crank baits or plastic worms 2 to 6 feet deep. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms 8 to 12 feet deep. Catfish are biting shrimp.

Eastern Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing at Grand Lake with purple jigs or minnows 10 feet deep around docks. Catfishing is good with cut bait 30 feet deep.

Table Rock Lake: The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good fishing for black bass with spinner baits along gravel banks. Catfishing is good with cut bait. Bluegill are biting worms or Beetle Spins.
