FEMA to pay $2.7 million for dam replacement at Bella Vista Lake

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance program will pay more $2.7 million to replace the dam at Bella Vista lake in Bentonville, according to a news release from the agency.

Storms and flooding in 2011 severely damaged the dam, according to the news release, resulting in erosion, a loss of support under the dam's concrete cover and damage to other areas of concrete.

The funding is a 75 percent cost share awarded to the state, then disbursed to the grant applicant, according to the news release.
