Terrance Billups, 35, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, a Class A felony. He entered the plea at his arraignment before Circuit Judge Robin Green.

Billups was arrested Aug. 14. He is accused of stabbing Aleasha Lackey, according to court documents.

Rogers police said they responded to a call at 6:57 p.m. Aug. 10 concerning a woman being stabbed inside her home at 3701 W. Murdock Lane. Police found Lackey on her kitchen floor, bleeding, a probable cause affidavit states.

A 13-year-old girl at the scene told police Lackey met a man on a dating website, and he had come to her home. The girl said the man was high on methamphetamine, the affidavit states.

The teenager said Lackey and the man had been arguing for most of the day, and she told police that she saw the man stab Lackey in the back with a butcher knife. The man then stabbed Lackey multiple times until she fell to the floor, according to court documents.

The teenager said she threw a teakettle at the man as he was standing over Lackey with the knife raised, the affidavit states.

The girl said the man then came after her and her 7-year-old brother, but they were able to dodge him until she could grab a skillet and raise it to hit the man, who then fled the residence, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Lackey had multiple stab wounds in her back. She also had large cuts on her right thigh and right forearm, the affidavit states.

The girl told police the suspect went by the names of Corey, Fred and Terrance, according to court documents.

Police were able to interview Lackey while she was being treated in the intensive care unit at Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville. She was able to write the name of her attacker -- Terrance Billups -- and his age, according to court documents.

An omnibus hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. Nov. 2.

Billups is being held in the Benton County jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
