Hot Springs police were called at 1:25 p.m. Thursday to 117 Kenwood St., where they found Terry Elijah Crump and Roy Dell Smith, both of Hot Springs, with gunshot wounds, according to a news release from Lt. Duane Tarbet of the Hot Springs Police Department. Both victims were transported to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.

Smith was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital with a gunshot wound in his torso, the release said. Crump was treated for a gunshot wound in the arm and released from the hospital.

Around the same time that Hot Springs police went to Kenwood Street, the Garland County sheriff's office was called to a convenience store at 4945 E. Grand Ave. in response to a report of a person with a gunshot wound. Deputies found Ocoriye D. Wallace, 20, of Little Rock with a gunshot wound in the shoulder. He was transported to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Medical Center in Little Rock.

Abriauna Bell, 22, of Little Rock was with Wallace at the convenience store and told police she was Wallace's girlfriend. She was questioned by police.

Wallace was released from the hospital Friday morning and arrested on a capital murder charge in the shooting on Kenwood Street, the release said. Police said it appears the homicide was related to drugs and the sale of a rifle.

Bell also was arrested in the shooting. She was being held at the Garland County jail and was charged with hindering apprehension, according to the news release.

The release said police also were seeking a juvenile from Little Rock in the homicide.

An affidavit for Bell's arrest said her statements to police were inconsistent with information police had gathered from other witnesses. Bell "was aware of the circumstances surrounding the shooting where a robbery took place and shots were fired which resulted in the death of Roy Smith," the affidavit states.

The affidavit also said detectives learned Crump and Wallace were acquaintances who had discussed the sale or trade of an AR-style rifle for several days. Crump was going to purchase the rifle from Wallace, who had agreed to go to Hot Springs to sell him the gun, the affidavit said.

There was evidence showing Wallace had sent Crump photos of the rifle he wanted to sell using Bell's cellphone.
