Johnson, 67, is scheduled to appear before retired Pulaski County Circuit Judge John Langston at 9:30 a.m. at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Pine Bluff.

A jury trial has been set for Oct. 8-9, according the judge's office.

The three-term county clerk is charged with 10 counts of forgery, one count of abuse of public trust and four counts of theft of property, special prosecutor Jack McQuary of Little Rock said.

Both the special judge and prosecutor were appointed to the case after Jefferson County's prosecutor and circuit judges asked to recuse.
