Man arrested after woman found dead on mountain

The Sebastian County sheriff's office arrested a 25-year-old man late Sunday in the death of a woman whose body was found Saturday on Sugarloaf Mountain.

A 2-year-old boy was found wandering along the road near the scene late Saturday. The boy, who was "covered in bruises," was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The woman's identity is not being released at the moment, said Lt. Philip Pevehouse of the Sebastian County sheriff's office.

Aaron Cutsinger, 25, of Hartford was originally arrested on a terroristic threatening warrant. Pevehouse said a search warrant revealed evidence linking Cutsinger to the woman's death.

Cutsinger confessed his involvement in the woman's death and the assault of the child, Pevehouse said. Cutsinger was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault. He is being held without bail at the Sebastian County jail.

The woman's body was found near the intersection of Sugarloaf Mountain Road and Observatory Road, Pevehouse said. He added that the cause of death is not known and the body will be sent to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
