COMMENTS The Tigers and the Bulldogs have played for the Paul Sharp Cup since 2013 in remembrance of Sharp, a former SW Oklahoma State head coach and a graduate of Ouachita Baptist. Sharp is the school’s all-time leader in victories and led the Bulldogs to the 1996 NAIA national title. … OBU withstood a run of 20 consecutive points by SE Oklahoma State to win last week’s game. Sophomore quarterback Austin Warford rushed for 135 yards in 17 carries. Redshirt freshman Kris Oliver rushed for 92 yards and 3 touchdowns on 11 carries. Junior Brandon Marks also had 2 touchdown runs, finishing with 73 yards on 9 carries. The Tigers finished with 309 rushing yards, averaging 7.5 yards per carry. … SW Oklahoma State junior quarterback Marc Evans completed 23 of 32 passes for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns last week against Arkansas-Monticello. OBU has totaled 317 yards passing through its first two games.

Harding averages 7.1 yards, and SAU averages 6.5 yards per snap. … Harding’s defense had 10 tackles for loss, including two sacks, against Southern Nazarene last week. The Bisons limited the Crimson Storm to 68 rushing yards and 202 total yards. … SAU freshman lineman Davondrick Lison leads the GAC with 2 1/2 sacks and senior defensive back Chris Wilson leads the conference with 5 tackles for loss. … The Muleriders are 2-0 for the first time since the 2012 season, when they finished 8-3. … SAU has not defeated Harding since 2003 and has lost nine consecutive games to the Bisons. … SAU senior linebacker Trebor Gainwell was the conference’s defensive player of the week after helping hold Northwestern Oklahoma to minus-22 yards rushing.

COMMENTS Arkansas Tech senior quarterback Arsenio Favor is the reigning GAC offensive player of the week after accounting for five touchdowns (three rushing, two passing) in last week’s victory over Oklahoma Baptist. Favor has completed 33 of 49 passes for 423 yards and 3 TDs in 2 games. He also has five rushing touchdowns. … Wonder Boys running backs Brayden Stringer (182 yards), Bryan Allen (175) and Kristian Thompson (150) are all among the top eight in the GAC in rushing yards. … Arkansas Tech leads the conference in several statistical categories, including scoring offense, rushing offense, first downs and total defense. … UAM kicker Jamie McGee moved into second place in school history in made field goals in last week’s loss against SW Oklahoma State. He is 26 for 34 (76 percent) in his three-year career. … Senior quarterback Hunter Leppert is sixth in passing yardage at UAM after throwing for 559 yards in the first two games, He has 4,063 for his career.

It also was the Reddies’ fourth loss in GAC play. Since the league first began play in 2011, HSU is 31-4 in conference play (4-1 in 2011, 8-0 in 2012, 10-0 in 2013, 8-2 in 2014 and 101 this season). … HSU junior quarterback Dallas Hardison threw for a career-high 375 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to East Central. Senior wide receiver Corey Chappell had a career-high 138 yards on six receptions. Chappell needs 37 yards to become the 14th HSU receiver to top 1,000 yards for his career. … Senior JaVante Mack had 10 catches for 84 yards, including 9 catches in the first half. .. The Reddies have committed seven turnovers through the first two games and are averaging 75.0 penalty yards per game.
