Hunt, 57, is the son of J.B. and Johnelle Hunt, co-founders of J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. He has been a member of J.B. Hunt's board since 1991.

The incident occurred when Hunt's vehicle was involved in a collision with a pickup driven by Omar Salinas-Hurtado on June 3 in Rogers. Hunt told police the truck hit his Cadillac Escalade and left the scene of the accident. Hunt followed the truck to get the license plate number and, after locating it heading in the opposite direction, he tried to do a U-turn and the vehicles collided again.

Hunt and a passenger in his vehicle, Darrin Swenson, said the pickup swerved into them and caused the second collision. Salinas-Hurtado said Hunt turned his vehicle into the pickup.

The Escalade blocked the driver's side door of the truck after the collision. Hunt and Swenson went to the passenger door to prevent Salinas-Hurtado from leaving the scene again. Witnesses reported seeing two men holding the driver on the ground and yelling at him, according to police reports.

Hunt was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault and released on citation. Salinas-Hurtado was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Aggravated assault is a Class D felony that could carry up to six years in prison.
