BEAVER LAKE

Crappie and white bass can be caught by trolling.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said the favored lures for trolling are Flicker Shads or Bandit 300 Series crank baits. Creek arms are the best places to troll, he said. Good trolling is reported from the Arkansas 12 bridge to Rocky Branch park.

Jigging spoons fished near the bottom are working for white bass in the same area, Whittle said.

Striped bass are biting in the morning from Point 5 to Beaver Dam. Use shad or brood minnows 2 to 20 feet deep. Black bass are hitting top-water lures, spinner baits or plastic worms.

Steve McClelland at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie are biting minnows 15 feet deep around brush on the south end of the lake. Black bass fishing is slow.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said the top flies for trout are prince nymphs or zebra midges in size 18. Olive-colored midges are also working. Trout are biting dry flies at sunrise.

The top lures are Trout Magnets or red/gold Colorado spoons. Best bait is white or sunrise Power Bait tipped with a waxworm. Nightcrawlers injected with air are working well, Mullins said.

On the lake side of Beaver Dam, black bass are biting plastic worms, plastic lizards or tube baits.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE

Dolly Black at the lake boat dock said bluegill are biting crickets 6 to 8 feet deep. Use jigs for crappie 10 to 15 feet deep. Black bass are biting plastic worms, spinner baits, crank baits and other lures.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie are biting 3 to 6 feet deep along flats or near the main channel. Catfish are biting shad or liver. Black bass are biting plastic worms, spinner baits or buzz baits. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms fished shallow.

LAKE ELMDALE

Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said catfish are biting. A party caught six blue catfish Saturday that weighed 41 pounds. The largest was a 12.25-pound catfish. They ran a trotline baited with liver.

Bluegill fishing is good with worms 3 feet deep. Crappie fishing is good around the public dock with minnows 10 feet deep under a bobber. Black bass fishing is good with white spinner baits or black plastic worms. Try top-water lures at sunrise and sunset.

SWEPCO LAKE

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting plastic worms 2 to 15 feet deep.

SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE

Stroud said black bass are biting top-water lures early and plastic worms later in the day.

ILLINOIS RIVER

Stroud recommends small tube baits or plastic worms for black bass fishing.

BELLA VISTA

Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting 4 feet deep on jigs or plastic worms at all Bella Vista lakes. Bluegill fishing is good with crickets or worms 12 feet deep. Catfish are biting fair on liver, nightcrawlers or shrimp.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports good fishing for largemouth bass at Lake Hudson with buzz baits, top-water plugs and spinner baits. Crappie are fair on minnows or jigs 10 feet deep.

TABLE ROCK LAKE

The Missouri Department of Conservation reports catfish are biting trotlines baited with small sunfish. Black bass fishing is fair with deep-diving crank baits or plastic worms 20 feet deep.
