Samantha Mary Strong and Benjamin Loy Lawson were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the Terry House. The Rev. Carolyn Wood Woodson, aunt of the bride, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Stephanie and Dr. Samuel M. Strong, 26 River Ridge Circle, and the granddaughter of Mary Ellen Lacy and the late Alvin Shimp, both of Fort Worth, and the late Edra and Dr. Samuel W. Strong of Hope.

Deborah and Donald Lawson of Ferndale are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Bernice and the late Donald M. Lawson of Sikeston, Mo., and the late T.A. and Loy McGowan of Jonesboro.

The aisle was lined with lighted lanterns and vows were exchanged at an altar of fall foliage and branches. Music was by the University of Central Arkansas String Quartet.

The bride walked down the aisle with her father. She wore a satin gown with an overlay of English tulle and lace. The V-neck bodice had shoulder straps and the skirt extended to a chapel-length train. She carried a cascade of dahlias, coxcomb, cymbidium orchids and bittersweet.

Sharon Cowell of Little Rock served as her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Curl of Pacifica, Calif., and Courtney Mosley of Bauxite. They wore navy gowns with lace bodices and carried bouquets of roses, dahlias and coxcomb.

Flower girls were Elizabeth Alcorn and Isabella Palmer of Sikeston, cousins of the groom. Ring bearers were Jacob Cowell and Asher Cowell of Little Rock, nephews of the bride.

Best man was Michael David Miles of Memphis, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Larry Galligan of West Fork and Dr. Antonio Lombeida of Fayetteville. Guests were seated by Nicholas Miles and Roman Miles, both of Memphis.

Guest tables at a reception, also at the Terry House, were decorated with fall jewel-tone arrangements of roses, orchids and calla lilies. Music was by Almost Infamous.

The bride graduated from Southern Methodist University with bachelor's degrees in art history and Italian area studies. She has a master's degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Starting in November she will be a physician assistant at Arkansas Specialty Orthopaedics.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. He is a real estate abstractor.

The couple will live in Little Rock after a honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.
