— Hunter Hart pitched three scoreless innings to earn the save and end Arkansas' fall scrimmage series Sunday at Baum Stadium.

The Razorbacks' Red team won 8-4 to win the best-of-five series 3-1. Arkansas will wrap up its fall practice Wednesday.

Hart pitched three times during the scrimmage series, allowing one run in six innings. The sophomore right-hander transferred to Arkansas from a junior college and was a 37th round draft pick out of high school.

The Red team had seven different players record hits. Sophomore outfielder Luke Bonfield had three hits and finished the scrimmage series 9-for-18 at the plate.

“Luke Bonfield had a very good series offensively and defensively,” Arkansas Coach Dave Van Horn said. “I thought the series was really competitive until today. After the second or third inning, the Red team built up a pretty good lead. You could just kind of tell that the Red team was definitely the dominant team offensively.”

Austin Catron had a two-run home run while Jack Benninghoff and Eric Cole each had RBI hits during a four-run second inning to give Red a 5-0 lead. There was at least one home run in all four scrimmages this week.

Benninghoff reached base three times. The center fielder also had a running catch to rob Chad Spanberger of a hit in the sixth inning.

Arkansas' infield turned four double plays Sunday and Van Horn said he was pleased with the play of catchers Tucker Pennell and Alex Gosser.

“I think both catchers did a great job catching and throwing," Van Horn said. "They caught every game, every pitch. There wasn't a passed ball the entire series. They did a pretty good job throwing out runners; that stands out to me a little bit."

Freshman Barrett Loseke didn't allow a hit in two scoreless innings to earn his second win of the series for the Red team. Loseke pitched five scoreless innings in all.
