The University of Central Arkansas in Conway recently announced academic scholarships for the fall. UCA awards six different academic scholarships to first-time entering freshmen based on high school grade-point average and ACT/SAT scores. Local students include:

University of Massachusetts Boston

Desirae Adams of Rogers made the spring 2015 dean’s list at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She graduated from the school in May.

Missouri State University

Colby A. Isbell of Garfield and Riley P. Henderson, William T. McCullough and Megan K. Seiler, all of Rogers, were named to the dean’s list for the summer semester. For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least six credit hours and at least a 3.50 grade-point average on a 4.00 scale

Harding University

The following local residents received diplomas at Harding University’s commencement exercises May 9:

Lowell: Jerome Grotts, master of arts in teaching in middle-level education.

Rogers: Brent Ward, bachelor of science in software development; Alexis Whaley, master of arts in teaching in early childhood education; Rachel Wright, bachelor of arts in early childhood education ; Sarah McMichael, master of science in reading; William Heffley, bachelor of science in public administration; Ashley Rosenbaum, master of arts in teaching in early childhood education; Brent Ward, bachelor of science in software development; Lorie Joyner, education specialist in clinical and mental health counseling; Emily Seidel, bachelor of arts in leadership and marketing; Briana Holland, bachelor of arts in communication sciences and disorders; Jarin Brown, education specialist in clinical and mental health counseling; Russell Gardner, bachelor of arts in general studies; Heather Corlem master of science in reading.

University of Central Arkansas

The University of Central Arkansas in Conway held summer commencement Aug. 7.

Graduates included: Jeremiah Fleeman, Rogers, master of science; Emily Noble, Rogers, doctor of physical therapy; Kelsey Prowell, Rogers, bachelor of arts; Shelby Sagely, Rogers, master of science.

University of Arkansas — Fort Smith

Isai Carranza of Rogers, an international business major at the University of Arkansas — Fort Smith has been matched with a community business leader and UAFS young alumni for the second year of the alumni association’s Mentor Connections program. The Mentor Connections program allows students to gain experience from a successful community business professional and recently graduated alumni in the student’s field of study.

Arkansas Tech University

Bailey Taylor of Rogers is one of five women named to the 2015 homecoming court. Taylor, a senior, holds membership in Delta Zeta, Presidential Leadership Cabinet, Order of Omega and the College of Business Dean’s Leadership Class. She has served as a resident assistant. Her parents are Felicia and Jim Taylor.
