Electro-pop duo

Electro-pop duo Cherub (Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, with producer Nick Curtis on drums and Jordan Bartlett on guitar and keyboards) will perform at 8:30 p.m. today and 9 p.m. Wednesday at George's Majestic Lounge, 519 W. Gaston Lecture

Former McGehee Mayor Rosalie Gould will discuss Japanese-American relocation camps and her contributions to their preservation in Arkansas in the fall Gaston Lecture, 7 p.m. today in the Vada Sheid Community Development Center, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, 1600 S. College St., Mountain Home.

Arkansas was one of three states with two Japanese-American internment camps during World War II. In 1982, a colleague approached Gould to organize a dinner for Japanese-Americans who wanted to return to the Rohwer camp to dedicate a monument.

Bygone sounds

"Arkansas Sounds Gone By," a special musical Legacies & Lunch program from the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, will showcase songs about Arkansas or written by people from the state, noon Wednesday in the Darragh Center, Central Arkansas Library System Main Library, 100 Rock St., Little Rock.

Singers, pianists and fiddlers, including David Austin, Bob Boyd, Susan Gele, Dent Gitchel, Richard Hunter, Herb Rule, Stephanie Smittle and George West, will perform songs from the famous fiddle tune "Arkansas Traveler" to Arkansas native Floyd Cramer's hit "Last Date," drawn from the Butler Center's Ron Robinson Sheet Music Collection. Co-sponsor is the Arkansas Humanities Council. Admission is free; bring a sack lunch and the Butler Center will provide drinks and dessert. Call (501) 918-3033.

Folk quartet

New England-based folk quartet Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem -- Rani Arbo, fiddle and guitar; Andrew Kinsey, bass, banjo and ukulele; Anand Nayak, electric and acoustic guitars; and Scott Kessel, percussion -- will perform at 7 p.m. today in the Administration Auditorium, Harding University in Searcy, part of the university's concert series.
