Group to discuss

Sugar Creek

The Friends of Little Sugar Creek will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. today to discuss the benefits of removing the Lake Bella Vista dam on Little Sugar Creek to return it to a free-flowing stream. The meeting is at Pedaler’s Pub, 401 S.W. A St., in Bentonville.

In 2008 the dam was classified as a “failed” dam by the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, listing the cause of failure as “hydrologic deficiencies and faulty material.”
