Robin J. Brown, 30, was charged in Scott County Circuit Court Friday with one count each of first-degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child, both felonies. She was arrested Friday on a warrant. The Scott County sheriff's office did not say Sunday whether she was still in custody.

According to the warrant filed with the circuit clerk, Brown was ordered to appear for arraignment on the charges in circuit court on Nov. 3.

Brown resigned from her position with the school district on Sept. 25, according to a Waldron police news release.

The release said the sexual activity came to light when Brown told her husband that she had sexual contact with a 16-year-old male student.

The Waldron Police Department was notified of the allegations by the school district on Sept. 25, the release said. The school notified the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline and an investigation was begun.

During an interview Sept. 28, Brown told a police investigator and school resource officer that she had sex with the 16-year-old student at her home on Sept. 12, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

The affidavit said Brown admitted sending inappropriate sexual messages and sexual pictures to three 17-year-old students by social media.

The news release said the investigators interviewed all four minor males who reported that Brown initiated the contact with them.
