'Bear Your Stripes' drive wins big for Eric Rob & Isaac

The city's advertising agencies put down their swords long enough to celebrate the 30th Prism Awards at Heifer International on Sept. 24, given by the Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Eric Rob & Isaac won Best of Show for last year's "Bear Your Stripes" campaign for the University of Central Arkansas. Mangan Holcomb Partners/Team SI was the top awards getter with 14, and Eric Rob & Isaac was second with 11.

Bear Your Stripes traded on exclusive purple-and-gray-striped socks with the UCA logo for a fee of $35 to renew or join the school's alumni association. Along with fundraising, the goal was raising alumni engagement -- at sports events, at social events and on social networks -- and according to the agency, membership jumped more than one-third last year. Anecdotally, the socks are a hit at football games.

Public relations campaigns and tactics for bringing attention to retailers, government agencies and nonprofits were recognized in 32 categories, ranging from Brochures and Websites to Feature/News Writing, and all submissions were judged by members of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi.
