Harris helps Nashville trap Fountain Lake

NASHVILLE -- Nashville's Trent Harris carried only three times Friday night against Fountain Lake at Scrapper Stadium Friday night, but Harris made each run count.

Harris raced 23 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fist half, and he picked up two pivotal first downs in the final minutes as the Scrappers salted away a 13-12 victory.

Nashville (5-0, 2-0 in 4A-7) overcame mistakes to hold off Fountain Lake (3-2, 1-1) and avenge a 32-29 loss last year, the only conference loss for the Scrappers.

Fountain Lake was held to 101 rushing yards on 42 carries.

Fountain Lake moved from its 30 to the Nashville 30 to set up quarterback Adrias Turner's apparent go-ahead touchdown pass to Sean McNeely on second-and-5, but the play was called back by a holding.

The Cobras wound up punting, giving Nashville the ball at its 13 with 3:58 left.

Enter Harris. On second 14 14 from the 9, he raced 16 yards around right end for a first down. Two plays later, he carried for 13 yards and another first down at the 38.

Nashville punted, but penned the Cobras at their 24 with 12 seconds left. A sack ended the game.
