FAYETTEVILLE -- A man wearing a rubber mask brandished a gun at bank employees at 4:33 p.m. Thursday, then made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police spokesman Sgt. Craig Stout said.

No employees were hurt at the BancorpSouth branch at 3390 N. Futrall Drive, Stout said.

Police released a photograph and description of the robber Thursday evening. Stout said they didn't have an estimate of his age.

The robber wore a cap, jacket and blue T-shirt, Stout said. He appeared to be carrying a bag with him in photos pulled from surveillance video, Stout said.

Police don't know if the man fled on foot or used a vehicle, Stout said.

Police continued to interview witnesses Thursday evening.

Bank property was marked off with crime scene tape.

The investigation is ongoing, Stout said.

The last financial institution robbed with a gun was Sept. 8 at the Northwest Arkansas Federal Credit Union. Police arrested Clarence E. Williams, 65, of 823 N. Seventh St. in Fort Smith, in connection with the crime later the same day. Williams awaits arraignment in the Washington County Detention Center on suspicion of aggravated robbery and parole violation.

The First Security Bank in Bentonville was robbed Aug. 28.
