Springdale man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

SPRINGDALE — Police arrested a man Thursday they said used a weapon to beat his wife earlier this week, according to a news release Thursday.

Jamie Slover, 39, of 762 Oakridge Drive in Springdale was arrested Thursday in connection with attempted capital murder, according to the release and online city jail records.

Police had been looking for Slover since around 5:55 p.m. Monday, when officers were called to the Oakride Drive home, according to a news release. Police found a 34-year-old woman had been “attacked with a weapon by her husband,” according to the release.

Slover was identified as the woman’s husband.

The type of weapon used was not identified by police.

The woman was taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. Police did not say Thursday what her injuries were or how seriously she was injured. No update to her condition was available Thursday.

Slover was found and arrested without incident near Aspenridge Drive and Powell Street, according to the release.

Police said no further information was available.

Slover had not yet been booked into the Washington County Detention Center by 7 p.m. Thursday.
