Flood warnings, watches issued as rain drenches state

3 P.M. UPDATE:

Little Rock has received 2.75 inches of rain Saturday as of 3 p.m., the National Weather Service reported.

The weather service said that brings the city's year-to-date total to 51.62 inches. With 9.83 inches so far this month, Little Rock is now at its sixth-wettest November on record.

North Little Rock received 2.34 inches Saturday as of 3 p.m., bringing its yearly total to 55.46, the weather service said.

Some roads across the state were closed as the wet weather continued.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department tweeted that Highway 166 from mile 3 to mile 3.5 near Stokes was closed because of high water.

Earlier, the Bryant Police Department reported that Boone Road at Bishop Park was being shut down due to flooding.

LITTLE ROCK — The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings and watches across most of Arkansas as a slow-moving storm system continues to dump rain on the state Saturday.

Rivers statewide are in danger of flooding, including the Arkansas, the Red River, Little Red River, St. Francis River, Black River, White River, Cache River and others and a flood warning is in effect for northwestern Arkansas and parts of eastern Oklahoma.

The weather service said 1 inch or more of rain is possible in the area where rainfall amounts of 4 to 9 inches have been reported since Thursday.

The flood warning is in effect until 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
