Restaurants open on Thanksgiving; Bakery Blitz

In conjunction with the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre's coming production of The Gingerbread Man, which opens Dec. 5 at the arts center in MacArthur Park, Madison Stolzer, who plays the title character, will do a promotional "Bakery Blitz," 2-6 p.m. Wednesday. She'll "run as fast as she can" between Little Rock bake shops Sweet Love Bakery, 8210 Cantrell Road; Cupcakes on Kavanaugh, 5625 Kavanaugh Blvd. in the Heights; and Boulevard Bread Co., 1417 S. Main St. She'll spend an hour at each location, and be available for photos.

A slightly expanded list of places open on Thanksgiving Day:

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, 323 President Clinton Ave. in Little Rock's River Market District, will be open 5 p.m.-1 a.m. today and 10 a.m.-2 a.m. Friday, starting with a breakfast buffet until noon, with a Bloody Mary bar and mimosa specials, and a day-long happy hour. • Wyndham Riverfront, 2 Riverfront Place, North Little Rock, will have a Thanksgiving Feast, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Riverfront Steakhouse and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Silver City Ballroom. Cost is $24.95, $21.95 for senior citizens, $14.95 for kids 5-11 and free for kids 5 and younger with paid adult meal. Call (501) 907-4826.

• Little Rock Marriott, West Markham and Louisiana streets: Heritage Grille, Steak & Fin will offer a $24.95, prix fixe plated dinner, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Call (501) 658-6700.

• At the Capital Hotel, 111 W. Markham St., Little Rock, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., One Eleven at the Capital will have a Thanksgiving Buffet Brunch; cost: $55, $25 for kids 6-11, free for kids 5 and younger, plus tax and gratuity. • And all Dixie Cafe locations will be open, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. today, serving "a traditional Thanksgiving Day feast," including a small salad, sliced turkey breast or grilled ham steak and cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, two sides, rolls and jalapeno cornbread, plus a small dessert for $11.99 ("beverage, tax and gratuity not included"); "Kiddie Feasts" are $4.49.
