Eikenberry to lead food bank

Kent Eikenberry of Rogers will take over as president and chief executive officer of the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank on Jan. 1, the charity announced Wednesday.

He replaces Marge Wolf of Rogers, who is retiring.

Eikenberry has worked the last 30 years for the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and its predecessor publications. He's currently the advertising manager for the newspaper.

Eikenberry is a graduate of Kansas State University and has served on Rogers-Lowell Area, Springdale, and Bentonville/Bella Vista chambers of commerce, the Mercy Hospital Foundation, Board of Advisers for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, Leadership Benton County, Northwest Arkansas Food Bank board and St. Vincent DePaul Pastoral Council.

The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank was established in 1988 and became a member of the Feeding America national network of food banks in 2007. The food bank and its agency partners serve more than 85,000 residents living in poverty in Washington, Benton, Madison and Carroll counties.
