Two wrecks in state kill two, injure three

Two ATVs in accident near Hamburg

A Harrison woman died Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle wreck in Boone County, Arkansas State Police said.

Mary R. Tabor, 74, of Harrison was driving a 2001 Pontiac west on Naples Road when she attempted to turn left onto U.S. 65, state police reported. The Pontiac failed to yield and was hit on its driver's side by a 2015 Jeep traveling north on U.S. 65.

The wreck occurred at 12:19 p.m. Sunday, according to state police.

State police said a minor was also injured in the collision, but the report doesn't specify whether the minor was the driver of the Jeep or a passenger in either vehicle.

The minor was taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, state police said.

It was raining and road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.

State police also said a minor was killed Sunday after two all-terrain vehicles collided in Ashley County.

State police reported that a 2002 Honda Rancher ATV and a 2010 Kawasaki ATV were both traveling west on Ashley County Road 922. As the two ATVs approached Ashley County Road 27, the Kawasaki ATV struck the rear of the Rancher ATV, causing that ATV to roll over.

A passenger on the Rancher ATV, Clariza Garcia, 20, of Burleson, Texas, was injured and taken to Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett, according to state police.

State police said that another minor was injured and taken to the same hospital, but the report doesn't specify whether the minor killed or the minor injured were drivers or passengers on the ATVs.

The wreck occurred at 11:04 a.m. Sunday south of Hamburg, state police reported.

Conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the collision.
