State lab identifies body found in Pine Bluff

PINE BLUFF -- A body found this week in Pine Bluff has been positively identified as that of a 23-year-old missing woman.

The Pine Bluff Police Department had earlier said the body was believed to be that of Maranda Goldman, who was reported missing Oct. 8.

The agency said in a statement Thursday that the state Crime Laboratory has confirmed that it is Goldman.

The body was found near 38th and Ohio streets, and was said to be "extensively decomposed."

The cause of death is not known, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call authorities at (870) 730-2090 or (870) 541-5300.
