Where I live: Chenal Valley in Little Rock
Occupation: President of Graham Smith Companies, which includes residential and commercial construction/development (including the Taylor Park, Longleaf, Wildwood Ridge neighborhoods in Little Rock) and real estate speculation. I also own four storage centers (Chenal Storage Center, Storage Spot of Maumelle, Mayflower Storage, 71 Storage) across the state.
My favorite space is: our hearth room.
Why? Because that's where I like to relax with my wife, Danea, and our dog, Cosmo. When we built our house, we planned this room to have an informal, inviting atmosphere. We did this because we felt this was a good representation of who we want to be. To us, the brick floors, wood ceiling and cedar trim create a warm and welcoming environment. The focal point is the fireplace. The design of this room and kitchen gives it an open feeling, which is why this is the place everyone congregates on special occasions.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Not change a thing. In our journey together, Danea and I put forethought into the design of this room. We love it just how it is.
