The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., celebrates its 30th anniversary June 14 with a dinner after the morning worship services. The theme will be "Pearls of Joy," with special readings, activities and displays.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County, 1110 S.E. Evergreen St., Bentonville, present member Tony Potochnik speaking on Buddhism at 11 a.m. Sunday. Buddhism is one of several religious traditions from which the Unitarian Universalists gain wisdom.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., presents the Rev. Ray Ticknor speaking on the power of Pentecost at the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday.

The Christian Singles meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., offers Parents' Night Out at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. A meal will be served, followed by games, crafts, songs and Bible stories.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is in need of donations as students will not eat meals at school because of summer vacation. The food pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday, and families can be provided food twice a month.

The church plans vacation Bible school from 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 8-11.

Bella Vista Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, sponsors the Men's Ministry in The Gathering at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Whole Hog Cafe in Bentonville. David Conrad from the Rapha House in Joplin, Mo., speaks.

The church accepts reservations on its website for vacation Bible school to be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 7-11. Themed "Move Through the Orange Programming," the sessions are for children ages 3 years to fifth-graders.

The United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, commissions its new Stephen Ministers during the 9:30 a.m. worship service May 31. New Stephen Ministers are Mary Beth Estes, Kathryn and Vern Hinz, Marisa Nabholz and Clare Ann Stubbs.

The church now accepts registration for vacation Bible school -- set for June 8-12 -- on its website. Children or volunteers registered by Monday receive a free T-shirt.

The church youth sponsor a parking lost sale from 8 a.m. to noon June 5. Money raised will send the church representatives, Claire Redlaczyk and Dylan Rendon, to the Youth Gathering of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America this summer in Detroit.

Washington County

Mount Sequoyah Conference and Retreat Center in Fayetteville, 150 N. Skyline Drive, offers two sessions of Kanakuk Kampout, a week-long day camp, this summer for children in kindergarten to fifth grade. Activities include slip-n-slides, a climbing wall, zip lines, a bungee and more.

The first session runs from June 29 to July 2, sponsored by the Church at Arkansas and the Grove Church. Cost is $225 per camper. The second session is July 13-17, sponsored by Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Cost is $250 per camper.

Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale, 1800 W. Emma Ave., presents Dave Anderson and Roger Walck in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. In 1993, Anderson and six others were rescued from the Bering Sea after their plane crashed on their return from a mission trip in Russia. He will retell his rescue story. An offering will be collected.

The University of Arkansas offers the new Introduction to Jewish Languages course during the first summer session. The class meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, Tuesday to June 26. The course, taught by Jacob Adler, will cover the basics of Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish. There are no prerequisites.
