Fifth juror selected for Holly murder trial

BENTONVILLE — One more juror was selected Tuesday morning to serve on the panel for Zachary Holly’s murder trial.

Holly, 30, of Bentonville is also charged with kidnapping, rape and residential burglary. He's charged with the abduction and killing of 6-year-old Jersey Bridgeman. Prosecutors will seek the death penalty.

Holly previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Jersey's body was found Nov. 20, 2012, in an abandoned house on Southeast A Street in Bentonville.

A man retired from the Air Force was selected Tuesday morning.

Attorneys questioned six prospective jurors and the retired man was the only person selected.

People are being questioned three at a time and each session lasts about 90 minutes.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys selected four jurors during Monday’s sessions.

Seven more jurors are needed and three alternates will be selected.

Six more prospective jurors will be questioned Tuesday afternoon.

Holly lived next to Jersey's family on Southeast A Street. He and his then-wife sometimes babysat Jersey and her younger sister, according to court documents.

A medical examiner determined Jersey died from asphyxia, according to court documents.

Holly is being held without bond in the Benton County Jail.
