There were seven sprint races on Friday’s program and once again not a single wire-to-wire winner. Six of the seven winners were fourth or farther back at the first call and two of the runner-ups were well back early. Three of the four one-two finishers in two route races were mid-pack or farther back making me believe that finishers had an advantage over speed horses.
