Park to hosts Mountain Bike Festival

The 27th annual Ozark Mountain Bike Festival will be April 3-5 at Devil’s Den State Park west of Winslow. The event features guided rides on the Fossil Flats Trail and back-country rides for experienced bikers.

Rides begin at 2:30 p.m., April 3 with a guided 5.5-mile ride for beginners. Events on April 4 begin at 9 a.m. with a 3-mile beginner level ride. Rides and clinics are held throughout the day. A beginner-level family ride and an advanced ride each start at 10 a.m., April 5.

All rides are over rough, sometimes muddy, trails with creek crossings. Helmets are required. Call the park at 479-761-3325 for details.

Hill Hikers to walk Bella Vista

Ozark Hill Hikers, affiliated with the American Volkssport Association, will hold 5- and 10-kilometer walks in Bella Vista on Saturday. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the pavilion off Veterans Parkway in Bella Vista. The route is around Lake Bella Vista and trails in Bentonville. All hikers are welcome. UA Bass duo wins at Kentucky Lake

The University of Arkansas team of Zachary Pickle and Drew Porto won the FLW College Fishing tournament held Friday and Saturday at Kentucky Lake.

They had a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 43 pounds, 12 ounces. Most of their fish came from a 30-yard section of shoreline. They won a Ranger bass boat and outboard for the UA Bass Fishing Team.
