The Bulldogs won their fourth game in five tries at the Coach Bob Invitational, getting a solid effort on the pitching mound from Joey Savin in a come-from-behind victory Tuesday. Fayetteville (11-1) fell behind 2-0 after allowing two unearned runs in the top of the first but used a threerun third inning to take over the game. Grant Koch finished 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs, including the game-tying RBI double in the third. Savin (2-0) allowed no earned runs in six innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Chase Arnold pitched the seventh inning for the Fayetteville save.

ROGERS HERITAGE 2, SEABREEZE, FLA., 1 SPRUCE CREEK 16, ROGERS HERITAGE 3

Chase Kilgore’s run-scoring single snapped a 1-1 tie in the top of the seventh inning to lift the War Eagles to a win over Seabreeze (Fla.) High School in the Bash at the Beach tournament at Daytona Beach, Fla., on Tuesday afternoon. Kilgore’s infield single scored Connor Hirsh from third to give the War Eagles (3-3) the lead. Logan Easley walked the lead-off man in the bottom of the seventh, but Ty Harris came on to retire the side and notch the save. Easley picked up the win with a scoreless sixth inning. Seabreeze pushed across an unearned run in the bottom of the first against Heritage starter Kacey Murphy. But the left-hander allowed no more over five innings. Murphy, who finished 2-for-3 at the plate, helped his own cause with an RBI double in the fourth inning to tie the game 1-1. In the second game, Spruce Creek broke open a 1-1 game with a four-run fourth inning. Kilgore went 2-for-3, scored a run and drove in one, while Alec Walker added an RBI single in the sixth. Sam Cooper also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. McCauley Sams took the loss, allowing five runs in 3.1 innings for the War Eagles. Heritage will finish up play in the event with two games Thursday.

LAKE OSWEGO, ORE., 6,

BENTONVILLE 5

Will Burton’s two-out infield single with the bases loaded drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh as Lake Oswego edged Bentonville in the Coach Bob Invitational. Lake Oswego loaded the bases with two walks and a single against losing pitcher Garrett Keithley (0-1) before Burton’s hit one out later against Cody Scroggins. Bentonville (4-3) had rallied in the top of the seventh with three runs to force the 5-5 tie. Scroggins singled and scored when Brian Gloeckler reached on an error, then Carter Brown doubled him and scored on Gunner Barnes’ single. The Tigers return to action today with a game at either 2:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. Central time.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 7, BROOKS, ALA., 6 MUSCLE SHOALS, ALA., 7,

Springdale Har-Ber split two games Tuesday while competing in a tournament at Gulf Shores, Ala. Har-Ber beat Brooks, Ala., 7-6 before losing 7-4 to Muscle Shoals, Ala. Alan Buttram delivered a pinch-hit double to tie the game against Brooks then scored the go-ahead run on an infield error. Kurt Phillips pitched 31/3 innings in relief to earn the victory. Har-Ber committed five errors while losing 7-4 to Muscle Shoals. Caleb Kimbel and Caleb Gray had two hits each for the Wildcats (5-2), who struck out three consecutive times after loading the bases in the seventh. Har-Ber will continue tournament action at 2 p.m. today against East Limestone, Ala.

MCDONALD COUNTY, MO., 4

The Lions claimed a rain-shortened win in Arvest Ballpark in nonconference action. The game was shortened to four innings due to storms moving through the area Tuesday afternoon. Kyler Bunch picked up the pitching win, allowing four runs on four hits. D.J. McDewell took the loss. Derek Pruitt led Gravette (4-0) at the plate with a pair of doubles and 2 RBIs. Matt Stelting was 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs, and Bunch was also 2-for-3. James Hanke had 2 RBIs for the Cardinals. Gravette will return to action in the Prairie Grove Tournament at 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Ozark.

Lindsay Glynn went 3-for-3 with a triple, drove in a run and scored twice to help the Lady War Eagles to an easy three-inning victory Tuesday in the Coach Beach (Fla.) Invitational. Brittney Dean also went 2-for-2, scored two runs and drove in one for Heritage, which pounded out 11 hits in the game. Dasha Donahoe picked up the shutout win in the circle. Donahoe also went 2-for-3 and scored twice in Heritage’s narrow loss later in the day. Freshman Sarah Pollock also went 2-for-3, while freshman Alexa Enos drove in two runs.
