Shooting victim,witness arrested

Little Rock police arrested a man on warrants Saturday after his friend was shot in an altercation with gang members.

Preston Hall, 35, initially told officers he'd been shot in the foot near 5204 Mabelvale Pike after approaching two men to "talk about Jesus Christ," according to a police incident report. His friend, Courtney Laster, 31, gave police a similar account of the shooting.

But after Hall received treatment at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary, he told police he'd been drinking and using drugs, and that he'd actually been shot when he and Laster got into an argument with Bloods gang members, according to the report.

Police found that both men had active arrest warrants. Hall had been wanted on theft and drug-related charges in Pulaski County, while Laster had been wanted on charges of failure to appear since December.

Hall was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Monday. Laster was being held at the facility in lieu of bond.

No other arrests had been made in the case.

The younger Aaron purportedly yelled, "You are going to stop putting your hands on my mother," then shot West.

Rhonda Aaron said she got in her son's vehicle as he drove away and asked him why he shot West, the report states. She exited the vehicle about a block away and walked back to the scene.

A Little Rock man was robbed outside his workplace Saturday by an armed acquaintance he knows as "Cool J," police reported.
