Two die in vehicle going wrong way

Two people were killed and two others were injured when a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane collided with two other vehicles Saturday, according to Arkansas State Police.

According to a preliminary accident report, Kenneth Taylor, 54, of Montrose was driving west in the eastbound lane of U.S. 82 about 9 p.m.

Just east of Montrose, the driver of an oncoming vehicle attempted to avoid Taylor by driving east in the westbound lane, police said. Taylor's vehicle hit the passenger's side of that vehicle and then hit the driver's side of a vehicle going east in the eastbound lane.

Taylor and his passenger -- 54-year-old Carl Burns of Montrose -- were killed.

Carolyn Staudy, 42, of Lake Village, was the passenger in the vehicle that attempted to avoid Taylor's. She and the driver of the third vehicle -- Jorge Mondragon, 45, of Crossett -- were injured. They were transported to Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village.

According to the report, it was raining and roads were wet at the time of the accident.

The report did not include vehicle descriptions and the name of one of the drivers.
