I-40 lane to close near W. Memphis

A routine bridge inspection will require a lane closure on Interstate 40 near West Memphis for 11 consecutive days beginning Monday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews inspecting the two main arch truss spans of the I-40 bridge over the Mississippi River between Arkansas and Tennessee will require closing the I-40 westbound outside lane on the bridge from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Friday, weather permitting.

On Saturday and Sunday, the lane closure will last from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., again weather permitting. The work will resume its weekday hours from March 30 daily through April 2, the department said.
