BENTONVILLE -- A Centerton man was sentenced to 35 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Arthur Bradford Jones pleaded guilty Thursday to 10 counts of distributing, possession or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony. He also was charged with second-degree sexual assault, a Class B felony. That charge was dismissed under a plea agreement attorney Kevin Lammers reached with Stuart Cearley, chief deputy prosecuting attorney.

Jones, 36, was arrested June 26, 2013. Jones' arrest came after a woman reported Jones inappropriately touched her 6-year-old son, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The woman also reported she was looking for a saved movie on a Jones' computer and she found what appeared to be child pornography, according to court documents.

Police later found child pornography on the computer, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Circuit Judge Robin Green accepted the plea agreement and Jones' guilty pleas.

Jones was sentenced to 35 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He must abide by a suspended sentence agreement for seven years after his release from prison.

He will be required to register as a sex offender. Jones must complete the prison's sex offender treatment program or a similar one after his release from prison.
