Rogers man found guilty of conspiracy to commit kidnapping

Following a two-day trial, a jury found a Rogers man guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and one count of kidnapping, aiding and abetting, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge.

Theron Vance, 22, was involved in a plot to kidnap a woman from Dallas to prevent her from testifying against her ex-boyfriend, Michael Roberts, according to the news release.

The woman was found June 1 at a Walmart Supercenter in Bentonville after an employee called 911 to report a woman saying she had been kidnapped. The woman told police she had been kidnapped from her Dallas apartment by Roberts and Vance, who was impersonating an FBI agent, the news release stated.

Roberts and another man involved in the case, Jason Pettit, have pleaded guilty to the charges against them. All three are awaiting sentencing.
