Police: Man spit in officer's mouth

A Little Rock man spit in an officer's mouth while being served court documents Saturday, according to a police report.

According to the report, Detrick Taraz Patterson, 26, also caused a "loud disturbance in the street" when police arrived at his home, 9224 Labbette Drive, about 10:30 p.m.

Patterson was arrested and booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of second-degree battery, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing government operations. His bail was set at $11,200.

He remained on the jail's roster late Sunday.

Benton man faces burglary charges

A Benton man was charged Sunday with burglarizing two apartments in the Hillcrest neighborhood in Little Rock, police reported.

According to an arrest report, Lawezleon Davis, 43, was seen at 12:30 p.m. taking items from two apartments at 1920 Kavanaugh Blvd. and placing them in the back of his vehicle.

Davis was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of residential burglary, criminal attempt to commit burglary, theft of property and possession of an instrument of a crime.

Davis' bail was set at $52,000. He remained on the jail's roster late Sunday.

Hensley man jailed in theft of vehicle

A Hensley man stole a truck from his girlfriend's employer Saturday after his vehicle got stuck in the mud, the Pulaski County sheriff's office reported.

William Robert Covington, 30, faces charges of commercial burglary, theft of property and first-degree criminal mischief.

Deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle stuck in the mud at 11606 Dreher Road in Little Rock at 11:15 a.m.

According to a sheriff's office report, deputies saw Covington drive up in a brown truck.

Covington told deputies he borrowed the truck from his girlfriend's boss.

According to the report, the boss told deputies the truck had been in his business -- America Free Trade at 10800 Arch Street Pike -- and Covington didn't have permission to go into the business or take the truck.

Covington was booked into Pulaski County jail, and his bail was set at $11,250.

He remained on the jail's roster late Sunday.
