Big John rips PGA’s policy on drug tests

John Daly is not a big fan of the PGA Tour's drug-testing policy, and he let his opinions fly on his Sirius XM PGA Tour radio show on Tuesday.

Daly, who claimed to know he would be tested after the second round of this week's Valspar Championship, called the tour's anti-doping efforts "a joke" and far from random.

"I know when I'm getting drug tested," the two-time major winner from Dardanelle said on Hit It Hard with John Daly. "That's sad. They all know when we're getting drug tested. And for you dopers ... you know you're getting drug tested, you got it made! You got it made! And I'm tired of it."

Daly claimed he would be tested as soon as he finished Friday's second round at Innisbrook, according to ESPN.com.

"I'm gonna play at 1:50 on Friday so they're [going to] get me about 6:52, 7 o'clock," he said. "This'll be the fifth or sixth year in a row I'm going to get drug tested [at Valspar]. It's the biggest b*, I'm sorry, I'm gonna say it, fine me. I don't care what you do, fix 'em right now, fine me, but I'm tired of it.

"It's not random; it's a big joke," Daly continued. "This whole drug testing is a joke."

Daly, clearly on a roll, and likely with no pun intended, added, "I'm pissed cause I know I'm going to get drug tested no matter where I go."

Have game, Will travel

A person with knowledge of the plan said comedian Will Ferrell will play all nine positions while making appearances at five Arizona spring training games today.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because Ferrell's plans had not officially been announced.

Earlier the Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres confirmed the star of Anchorman and many other movies would appear in their games.

The person said Ferrell would go from game to game via helicopter.

The teams involved announced last week they were moving back the start of their games to accommodate a request by Major League Baseball, which is coordinating with HBO to film a special that day.

So, Suh me

The Miami Dolphins reportedly will sign former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to a deal worth $114 million, with $60 million guaranteed.

"That sounds high, but it's only $12.50 per dirty play," wrote Reggie Hayes of The News-Sentinel of Fort Wayne, Ind. "The Lions, meanwhile, are expected to win the same number of Super Bowls without Suh."

Burger time

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a minor league affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are introducing a new "Funnel Cake Burger" this summer. Featuring a beef patty, bacon and cheese, sandwiched between two sugar dusted funnel cakes.

"The price is $20," wrote Janice Hough of leftcoastsportsbabe.com, "but presume it comes with a discount coupon for an EKG."
