Police investigating Springdale incident

SPRINGDALE -- Police are investigating an aggravated robbery after a woman said she was attacked by two men early Thursday.

A 34-year-old woman pulled into her driveway at 302 Robert Circle about 12:17 a.m. Thursday, according to a police news release and email from Derek Hudson, Springdale Police Department spokesman. The woman had seen three people trying to conceal themselves, and two men crossed the street when she pulled into her driveway, according to a police narrative provided by Hudson.

The woman, who isn't named by police, said she got out of her car and saw two men who demanded money. One man pulled out a pipe and threatened her, police said. She told them she didn't have any money, but they began physically assaulting her, according to the release. She was hit on the nose, Hudson said.

The assault was interrupted by a family member who heard something outside and investigated, the release said. The men then fled.

The woman had injuries to her face and was treated at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale, according to the release. No one has been arrested, Hudson said. The case involves three people, he said.

The woman described one man as "slim" and wearing all black with a gray bandana over his face. One person may have been a woman because of long hair, but it was dark. The woman didn't know what the other two people were wearing, Hudson said.

The woman also saw a red truck in the area that may be linked to the incident, Hudson said.

The investigation is ongoing.
