Springdale police investigate robbery after woman attacked

Springdale police are investigating an aggravated robbery after a woman said she was attacked by two unknown men early Thursday, according to a police news release.

A woman pulled into her driveway at 302 Robert Circle at about 12:17 a.m. Thursday, according to the news release and the Springdale dispatch log. The woman, who is not named in the release, said she got out of her car and saw two men who demanded money. She told them she did not have any money, and they began physically assaulting her, according to the release.

The assault was interrupted by a family member who heard something outside and investigated, the report said. The men fled.

The woman had injuries to her face and was treated at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale, according to the release. No suspects have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.

Spokesman Derek Hudson had not returned a phone message or email just before noon Thursday.
