Massage customer robbed in motel lot

A man seeking to be rubbed down instead got held up on Sunday in Little Rock, police reported.

Officers were called to the Motel 6 at 10520 W. Markham St. at 5:51 a.m. Montoya Gomez, 18, said he'd been talking to a woman on the Internet and arranged to meet her for a massage, according to a police report. But a man approached him in the parking lot, demanded money for the massage and pointed a gun at him. The robber took Gomez's cellphone and $150.

No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-5 in height and weighing 170 pounds, the police report said.

Shot by car burglar at club, man says

A shooting outside a Little Rock nightclub injured one person Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers were called at 3:12 a.m. to UAMS Medical Center, where Brooks Smith was being treated for a gunshot wound on his right arm. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Smith, 32, of Little Rock, and two friends said they were leaving Club Trois at 4314 Asher Ave. and saw a man who'd broken into their vehicle, a police report said. The man was sitting in the driver's seat, and a rear window was shattered.

When Smith and his friends approached, the man reached out the window and fired at them, the report said. The shooter entered a white sedan driven by another man and fled.

Police said a CD player and speakers were taken in the car break-in.

The shooter is described as a 5-foot-11 heavyset black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He wore a white T-shirt.

The driver was described as black and heavyset. He also wore a white T-shirt.

Sunday's shooting was the second in four months outside the club.

Locked door thwarts restaurant holdup

Little Rock police said an armed man wearing a Spider-Man backpack tried to rob Five Guys Burgers and Fries at 13000 Chenal Parkway.

Officers responded to the restaurant about 9:22 p.m. on Friday. Two employees said a man wearing a black ski mask had walked to the front door with a silver handgun, according to a police report. He was also wearing a child's backpack featuring the web-slinging superhero.

The man tried to open the door, but it was locked, the report states. Police reviewed surveillance footage that showed the man running behind the restaurant and into a nearby apartment complex. Officers searched the area but made no arrests.

Nothing was taken from the restaurant.

The gunman is described as black, 6 feet tall and weighing 140 pounds.

A black man wearing a ski mask and a Spider-Man backpack robbed the restaurant the morning of May 17, according to police. He held three employees at gunpoint before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from a safe.

Conway driver says 3 took her car in LR

Police are investigating after a Conway woman was carjacked Sunday in Little Rock.

Officers responded about 1:08 a.m. to 2400 S. Tyler St. Shannon Womack, 22, said she was driving a black 2005 Ford Mustang when a light-gray pickup pulled up behind her, according to a police report. Three men exited the pickup and held Womack at gunpoint. The men said they were taking the car "back to Stephanie," the report states.

No injuries were reported.

Womack told police she doesn't know anyone named Stephanie.

The robbers are each described as black and between the ages of 30 and 35. Officers searched the area but made no arrests.

Woman arrested twice on LR streets

A woman, who ran away after offering an undercover officer sex for money on Monday, was taken into custody when she did the same thing to another undercover officer, Little Rock police reported.

Kimberly Deon Shoto, 32, of Little Rock was first arrested after offering an undercover officer to engage in oral sex for payment, police said. According to a police report, Shoto was placed under arrest, but she jumped out of the officer's car and fled on foot. Police were unable to find her at the time.

The same undercover officer saw Shoto at 6 p.m. at 2200 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Police said Shoto got into the car of another undercover officer and offered to have sex with him. She was then arrested and taken to Pulaski County jail.

She was booked into jail on a charge of fleeing and two counts of prostitution. She remained on the jail's roster late Monday, and her bail had not been set.
