Crash hurts church-van riders

Multiple people were injured after a church bus overturned Monday on U.S. 65, according to Arkansas State Police.

Police responded about 2 p.m. to a crash just south of Denard in Van Buren County, said state police spokesman Bill Sadler. The bus, which belonged to a church in Beebe and was pulling a trailer, left the highway and overturned.

At least four people were transported to Little Rock hospitals, Sadler said. Several more were treated and released at a Clinton hospital.

"At this time, none of the injuries are known to be life threatening," Sadler said in an email.

Most of the passengers were teenagers, he said. Seven were under age 18.

Beebe Nazarene Church posted to its Facebook page Monday afternoon that a church vehicle was in a wreck while taking the teenagers home from camp.
