Ontario regulations for fish limits, size

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry manages its fisheries seasonally to ensure longterm sustainability. Creel limits and length-limits are zone specific and relate to spawning seasons.

From Dec. 1-June 30, anglers can keep two smallmouths per day that are no longer than 13.8 inches. From July 1-Nov. 30, the creel limit remains two with no length limit.

Depending on the type of fishing license you have, you can keep two to four walleyes a day smaller than 18 inches, but no more than one per day larger than 21 inches.
