Huckabee to open Iowa headquarters

WASHINGTON -- Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is scheduled to open his Iowa campaign headquarters with an event in a Des Moines suburb Tuesday.

The Republican presidential candidate's win in the 2008 Iowa caucuses made him a contender and he went on to to win several states before ceding the nomination to U.S. Sen. John McCain. He has traveled frequently to Iowa since leaving his Fox News show in January in preparation for a second bid.

The headquarters kickoff will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 3100 100th St. in Urbandale, just west of Des Moines.

Huckabee is scheduled to remain in Iowa Wednesday and Thursday, holding a "Religious Liberty Town Hall" tour in the cities of Council Bluffs, Sioux City, Cherokee, Fort Dodge, Dubuque and Burlington.
